Vaping E-liquid Price Breakdown

Canada's Government forces new prices.

You may have noticed our prices raised recently,

 none of that money comes to us.

A quick apology to those who thought we raised our prices out of greed. We've always strived to provide the best product at the regular price you expect. But this was out of our control.

The Federal Government recently introduced a new duty on vaping products.

You can learn more here, or read a quick summary below.

The gist of it is;

Base $5

For the first 10ml of e-liquid

 Plus $1

 For each 10ml above that

That means for a bottle of 120ml, the price increases $16.

and other bottle pricing;

30ml + $7.00
60ml + $10.00
120ml + $16.00
500ml + $54.00

and remember, that doesn’t go into our pockets.

Of that extra cost 100% of it goes to the Canadian Government.

It’s not obvious because we’re required to include it in the price and not separately. Why is that a requirement? Your guess is as good as ours.

We’ve even reduced the price of our two 120ml bundle internally to keep it under the $90 mark, though the cost is higher, we’re actually making less money from it.

I’m truly sorry for the shock if you didn't know this was coming, as an industry we’ve been pushing against this but it doesn’t get much media coverage.

The most we can do is send out a few e-mails that most people don’t have the time to read.

This is the new industry standard, and while it hurts all of us, there is a silver lining..

Before this duty the Federal Government was deciding whether to ban flavours outright.

Many of you may remember when we reached out to you about that. Thankfully that has not yet happened.

And as we all know once the government gets a new income stream they are very unlikely to cut it off.

 So while this duty is very painful for all of us, it does give us some security knowing that the e-cigarette and vaping industry is likely cemented into Canadian life now.

A short rant before I finish

 I want to make it clear that I do not support the implementation of this excise duty. While I understand the government's concerns about the potential risks associated with vaping, I believe that there are more effective ways to address these issues than by increasing the price of these products.

 First and foremost, it is important to understand that vaping is not the same as smoking. While both involve the inhaling of a vaporized substance, e-cigarettes and other vaping products do not contain many of the harmful chemicals found in traditional cigarettes. In fact, numerous studies have shown that vaping can be a much safer alternative to smoking, especially for those who are trying to quit.

 The excise duty on vaping products is certain to have a negative impact on small businesses in the vaping industry. This tax will make it more difficult for these businesses to compete with larger companies, potentially leading to closures and job losses.

 Instead of implementing an excise duty on vaping products, the government should focus on regulating and educating in a way that promotes their safe use. This could include stricter regulations on the marketing and advertising of these products, as well as increased education and awareness about the potential risks associated with vaping.

 Thanks for sticking it out with me until the end guys. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at contact@vapornorth.com

 I truly and deeply appreciate your support through all the years and hope we can continue supporting each other.
