What are vape mods?

A vape mod is typically larger than a standard e-cigarette, and produces much more vapor. When you think of blowing huge clouds, you are thinking of a mod.

The name “mod” comes from the fact that this style of vape device is simply a “modified” e-cigarette. They come with far more advanced features, including:

• Much longer battery life for longer vaping sessions
• Larger capacity for e-juice, meaning you can go longer between fills
• Mods generate more power, for larger rips

The mod is responsible for producing power, so it can be looked at as the “battery” behind your device. It is responsible for heating your tank, and thus, your e-liquid.

Box mods

One of the most popular styles is the box mod. They are as powerful as mods come, commonly referred to as “heavy hitters” of the industry. These tend to be larger in size, and are heavier. This is because they house a replacement, removable battery inside their housing.

They typically come with a universal 510 threaded connection, allowing you easy swaps from tank to tank. On a box mod, you’ll get your readings via a OLED digital display, which visually displays temperature, volts, ohms, wattage, etc.

Squonk Mod

A squonk mod is very similar to your standard box mod. But, the key takeaway here is it contains a built in squeeze bottle for easy e-juice application to the tank. This makes refilling your liquid super easy, with lower chance of spills and waste.

These mods still have the same 510 threading in most cases, but they work best with RDA atomizers. This is because you won’t need to frequently feed e-juice through the mouthpiece.

Tube mod
